Visual methods / Rich Picture

In recent years I have adapted Rich Picture from soft systems thinking into an actor-training tool, using visual metaphor and playful diagrams to give concrete form to complex, elusive acting principles. In the training room these drawings clarify confusion created by language and instruction, make demanding techniques accessible, and surface critical yet easily overlooked problems in acting. They also document rehearsal and reflection, capturing layers of work that video cannot show.

I have developed and use this visual approach as a teaching method that runs through problem diagnosis, method design and shared understanding in the room across languages and cultural settings, and as a practice-as-research method. See the homepage video and publications section for fuller accounts.
